This Year's Jaxon Smith-Njigba For Fantasy Football
In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by Franchise League Football.
The moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally here …
Matthew’s 2026 Ride or Die has officially been announced.
Sure, I could spoil it right here, but that wouldn’t be any fun.
How about a quiz?
Let’s see how many clues it takes you to guess …
Clue 1: He is the only WR in the NFL to average at least 8.5 yards per target in each of the past five seasons.
Clue 2: He’s averaged 17.3 fantasy points in career games in which he’s earned at least a 25% target share. Last year’s WR5, George Pickens, averaged 17.2 points per game.
Clue 3: A team source told Matthew at the NFL Combine that this WR could have a season similar to what Jaxon Smith-Njigba enjoyed in 2025.
Clue 4: He didn’t pick my suggestion (Terry McLaurin), but stayed within the NFC East.
Clue 5: When operating as his team’s WR1, he has been targeted on 29% of his routes. Oh, and the team’s previous WR1 departed this offseason and vacates a 28%-plus target share.
Did you guess it?
Ugh … I can lead a horse to water, but I can’t make ‘em drink. Here ya go …

Everything You Hate About Fantasy Football, Fixed.
You won your league last year. Congrats. Then August rolled around and. .. you started completely over. New draft, new roster, none of what you built survives. Where's the reward for all that work?
Every fan has screamed at their team's GM at least once—bad contract, botched pick, letting the wrong guy walk. You've thought it: I could do that better. Franchise League Football is where you get to prove it.
It's a contract-based keeper platform with a real salary cap. You inherit a franchise with existing contracts from Day 1—evaluating deals, hunting waiver-wire bargains, deciding who stays and who hits free agency. Blind-bid auctions set salaries. Multi-year contracts carry real weight. You can even draft college players before they declare, stashing future stars on minimum deals. Add automatic injury substitution, round-robin playoffs, and weekly giveaways for high scoreS. It's clear why FSGA named it Best Startup Product Experience.
Built by MIT engineers. Rewards decision-making, not the luck of a random draft order.

Devising the Perfect Draft Strategy
“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” —Mike Tyson
Dwain McFarland uses this pugilistic analogy to perfection when describing how to build the perfect draft strategy. There’s no use in planning for the board to fall your way every round.
- You will get sniped.
- You will have players fall to you well after their ADP.
- You will see someone draft a kicker or defense before the last rounds.
It’s how you roll with the punches that makes for the perfect strategy. See how Dwain recommends we attack all the positions as well as each of the ESPN, Sleeper and Yahoo formats. It’s his seminal piece for draft season. ⤵️

Drafting From The 1.12: Turn And Burn
This is the end … No, this isn’t the start of the Doors song. It’s the culmination of Chris Allen’s wonderful series providing strategy from each of the draft positions in Round 1 using our Draft Champion.
Finishing up at the 1.12, it’s easy to focus on the long wait for that first pick, and how many prominent players are gone by the time our turn comes up at the end of that round. Then we realize that there’s an immediate pick at the start of Round 2, and let’s just say how the turn tables. (Shoutout Michael Scott)
The only real issue from then on out is not hitting the food spread too hard in that long wait in between picks. Lock in and be ready to be sharp at every turn. ⤵️

Guillotine LeaguesTM Live Draft: Cutting It Up
There’s something just EXTRA about conducting a full Guillotine LeaguesTM draft. Seeing 18 players go off the board per round … let’s just say the talent dries up pretty fast. Marcas Grant and Tipp Major are joined by friends in the Fantasy Life universe for a mock draft that puts that to the test.
